AVS is short for Audio Video coding Standard Working Group of China, a national standards drafting organization approved by the Science and Technology Department of Ministry of Information Industry of China. AVS acts as the national body in ISO/IEC JTC1 SC29/WG11 (MPEG). AVSThe goal of the working group is to establish the standard for compression, decompression, manipulation, and display in digital audio and video multimedia equipment and systems. This standard applies in fields such as high-resolution digital broadcast, high-density laser-digital storage media, wireless broadband multimedia communication, and Internet broadband stream media. The achievement of AVS is the national standard "Information Technology Advanced AV coding". AVS standard has three special points: Advanced Technology, IPR clear, Open worldwide. AVS is supported by the Chinese government, the AV industry in China and out of China. Up to know, AVS has more 130 members.
